What do elementary school counselors do?

  • Teach classroom counseling lessons
  • Facilitate short-term small group counseling
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff
  • Consult with parents
  • Provide information and/or referrals for community resources

 

Meet your School Counselor:  My name is Alice Browder.  This marks my 9th year as a school counselor and my 7th full year at Roosevelt Elementary School.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University in Elementary and Special Education, a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from East Tennessee State University, and an Education Specialist degree from Union College in Educational Leadership.
